Swamp Water Energy Champion responds to Media Trial's Tag Tournament advancement
Harry Balkin Jr. has spent weeks telling anyone who will listen that Charlie Williams was handed his title opportunity. Charlie Williams has now pointed out the specific way in which Balkin reached his own tournament semifinal, and the irony is not subtle.
Swamp Water Energy Champion Charlie Williams has become the most prominent voice questioning the circumstances under which Media Trial advanced to the Spinebuster PRO Tag Team Championship Tournament semifinals, and he has been precise about exactly what he is and is not saying.
"I want to be accurate," Williams said on Wednesday, "so let me be accurate. Harry Balkin Jr. and BookFace did not request Vox Null's involvement. I'm not suggesting they organised it. What I am saying is that the Second-Wind Syndicate did not get a fair match, and Media Trial is now in a semifinal position that they reached through a bracket that was affected by outside interference. That is a fact. Whether Harry Balkin wants to acknowledge that fact is a separate question, and knowing Harry, I suspect the answer is no."
Balkin responded on Thursday in a video statement. "Charlie Williams is the Swamp Water Energy Champion. He won that championship in a single match against a single opponent, chosen by management, on the first night of this company's existence. He has now spent two weeks telling other people what they did and didn't earn. I would suggest that is a conversation he is not qualified to have."
Williams, informed of Balkin's response: "He didn't deny it."
Media Trial's semifinal opponent has not yet been confirmed. THRØNEBREACH DISASTER face the Blood Oath in non-tournament tag action this Friday on Bad Juju episode three. A win there would make a compelling case for their involvement in the next round.
