Los Depredadores del Mar entered into tag title tournament
A Mexican stable nobody in Baton Rouge had heard of three weeks ago has quietly entered the Spinebuster PRO Tag Team Championship Tournament, and based on everything circulating about them this week, the Louisiana independent scene is about to get an education.
Spinebuster PRO has confirmed that Los Depredadores del Mar — Tiburón Coral and El Kraken — have been officially entered into the Spinebuster PRO Tag Team Championship Tournament, with their first-round match scheduled for the main event of Bad Juju episode two this Friday night.
The confirmation follows a week of escalating noise surrounding the broader Los Mares Mortales del Golfo stable, who sources describe as operating under the management of "The Barracuda" Vivienne Vance. Vance has not yet appeared on Bad Juju television but her name has been attached to both Coral and Kraken since before the promotion launched.
Their opponents in the first round are Barry "The Blueprint" Brick and "Sensational" Sean Sterling, both of whom are known quantities on the Louisiana independent scene. Neither man has commented publicly on the matchup this week, which may itself be a comment.
Footage circulating online from non-Spinebuster PRO events shows Tiburón Coral and El Kraken operating as a highly coordinated unit, with Kraken's raw power complementing Coral's technical precision in a combination that several observers have described as purpose-built for tag team competition. Whether that translates to the Bad Juju environment remains to be seen.
The tag tournament bracket currently has four confirmed entrants. The Marsupials of Mayhem and The Haughty Troupe meet in the other first-round match of the evening. Two more spots are expected to be filled in coming weeks.
