Bad Juju broadcast team announced

Bad Juju is the epicentre of Spinebuster PRO with the show streaming Fridays on YouTube. The ship needs a great captain to steer it (and a first mate).

Spinebuster PRO has confirmed the commentary team that will call the action on Bad Juju, the promotion's weekly streamed video podcast originating from The Bayou in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Morton Murphy will handle play-by-play duties, joined at the desk by the masked French-Canadian heel known as pain GRILLE.

Murphy is no stranger to the business side of professional wrestling, having previously served as a promotion owner and booker before transitioning to the broadcast chair. His background gives him an unusually deep understanding of the game, and those who have heard him work note that he calls moves with purpose, roots everything in history and storyline context, and treats the audience as though they actually care about what they are watching. Which, at Spinebuster PRO, they do.

His broadcast partner is a considerably more chaotic presence. pain GRILLE, formerly of the tag team Les Baguettes Sauvages and identifiable by his distinctive toast-inspired leather luchador mask, brings a shameless heel sensibility to the desk. The Quebecois grappler never met a rule-breaker he could not justify or a babyface he could not undermine, and his commentary is expected to reflect that worldview completely and without apology.

The pairing is an unusual one on paper, a fair-minded veteran play-by-play man seated next to a gleefully dishonest partisan colour commentator, but that tension may prove to be one of Bad Juju's genuine assets. Spinebuster PRO owner April Monday has built her promotion on the idea that professional wrestling does not need to be polished into something unrecognisable, and a commentary team that actually disagrees about who the good guys are fits that philosophy well.

Whether Murphy can keep pain GRILLE from completely derailing a broadcast, and whether pain GRILLE will manage to stay composed when the subject of April Monday herself comes up, remain open questions as Bad Juju prepares to go live.
